Steel Ball Operator  

Job Summary  

American NTN Bearing Manufacturing Corporation is looking for a Steel Ball Operator for a client in Elgin, IL. In this position, you will be responsible for the operation of production equipment to include loading materials, perform quality checks, and troubleshooting machines.

Responsibilities  

  • Crane operation. (0.5ton)

  • Daily crane check sheet

  • Operating pallet jack

  • Check oil levels on machine

  • Load white basket to machine

  • Check Master Ball under microscope

  • Run master ball in machine and do quality adjustments

  • Check for Stay balls inside machine

  • Run machines (nine)

  • Maintenance of machines (change worn-out parts, oil/filter change)

  • Fill out Daily report

  • Quality check of material under microscope

  • Check ball diameter

  • Use barcode system (issue, make labels)

  • Move full pallets to warehouse

  • Maintain RP oil in packing line

  • Material handling for packing line and warehouse

  • 5S/3D

  • Black box with bags for OSB

 Skills and Abilities   

  • Read and measure using gauges, following quality standards & work instructions

  • Understand basic production processes & knowledge of basic machine operation

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals

  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to solve practical problems as they apply to production machinery 

  • Communicate well with others  

  • Respond promptly to a sound or light signal when it occurs

  • Concentrate on a task over several minutes without being distracted

  • Arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern

Education and/or Experience   

  • This job requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).  

  • Basic mechanical knowledge of computerized machines, gauges, and hand tools  

  • Previous Manufacturing Experience preferred

Physical Requirements   

  • Physically move objects safely by using proper lifting techniques.

  • Mechanically inclined
