Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
American NTN Bearing Manufacturing Corporation is hiring for a full time experienced Electrical Engineer in Elgin, IL. In this position, you will be responsible for modifying, designing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC based electrical Control Systems, including Motion Control Systems. Monitoring, modifying, and writing PLC programs. Troubleshooting and modifying CNC machines. Plan layout and wiring Electrical Control Panels and installing on industrial machinery.
Responsibilities
Improve and modify automated production machinery according to other departments’ requirements.
Design and implement automated production machinery and Control Systems (i.e., electrical schematic drawings, list of material, panel layout, wiring, and testing).
Work with vendors to design, implement, install, start up, duplicate, overhaul, etc. automated production machinery.
Supervise and train lower-level Electrical Engineers, technicians, vendors, etc.
Troubleshoot automated production machinery, identify root cause of trouble and repair as necessary.
Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic components of machine such PLC and CNC modules, MMIs, drives, motors, relays, switches, positions sensing devices, printed circuit boards, etc.
Connect electric power to machines and equipment and control wires between machines and equipment. Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Work with mechanics and lead persons to diagnose faulty machinery.
Skills and Abilities
Design and implement automated production machinery and Control Systems.
Identify weak points of production process and find a way to improve them.
Create procedures, work instructions, etc.
Prepare and provide training for lower-level Electrical Engineers, technicians.
Learn fast changing technology and apply best of it for the company’s benefit.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Physical Requirements
Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
